I lost second gear in my tranny on my 06 f-150 I pull an ultra lite toy hauler it is maybe 7000 pounds loaded is this just a round of bad luck. Anyone else have any transmission problems? When I tow I leave overdrive off. Any advice would be great I do not want to go through this again.
I had to replace my tranny on my 07 at 22,000 miles. I sometimes pull a Cargo Express 7X12 Harley Hauler low profile enclosed trailer. I now have 47,000 on the 2nd tranny and it has been ok. I always tow with the OD off.
So I talked to the dealer today and now they are thinking my transfer case is what is making the noise. I do not use my fourwheel drive very much living in AZ. Should I be kicking it in once in a while like maybe a bearing came apart from not being used and lubed.
Going to get my truck tomorrow the dealership said it was a vaccum line and that it came off so the noise I was hearing was the transfer case trying to go in and out of fourwheel drive. Hope this fixes the problem but they did not drain any fluids or nothing so I hope there are no metal particals in the case. Wish me luck.
