Well My 86 is gone.
I sold my 86 Ford ext. cab toaday for $500 with the damaged motor.
Yes it only had 155,000 kms on it. I just did not have the time to rebuild it right now. I have enough projects to get at. This would of been one more thing keeping me from fixing the Econoline or my other projects around home.
It has gone back to it old stomping grounds around Bruno. Actually Cudworth. But it was originally sold in Bruno to a farmer there then to 2nd owner in Rosthern. Then me.
I had my fun and anguish with that truck. I think I did good at $500 beans with a damaged motor.

Yeah it was. I sadly just have no time for it and need to concentrate on other things here. Like finishing the house roof after 7 years.
Plus in this province most people would not give me $500 for that truck. These guys are ford lovers. They had a new motor sitting in their shop. The other was a journeyman bodyman. He already had patch panels for the rust that started.
So I decided to let her go. Spent lots on her. She cost me a fortune on gas not getting much better than 6 MPG. Til last year when I finally got someone who knew what the problem was. Then got 13MPG.
Now I got Morris's 92 from him. Better truck for towing and hauling with anyways.

The box in the last 2 years started to rust in the usual places. Nothing that patch panels could fix.
It went to where they will give it a facelift. and a new heart to keep it going for many years.
When I posted it for sale. I was getting offers of 200 and 300 The most was 400 and been told that I was being rediculous on my asking.
These guys said I was fair for its condition. Sadly this province is noted for too many buyers wanting things for nothing. That is why a lot of my vehicle parts are going out of province. There the buyers are willing to pay and the shipping. Especially Ontario. The cars have rust issues there. Sold two vehicles that way. Those vehicles around here would of been deemed scrap meta and parts cars. Too them it is gold.
My truck was far from parts or scrap. I just did not have time and resources to fix it. Resources are needed for roof over my head. Literaly. Putting a new roof on the houses leaking roof.

I always buy my vehicles from out of province for that very same reason. There are almost no vehicles here that will sell for very, and I mean VERY reasonable prices. If they are posted for a reasonable price, they are scooped up by someone else and re-posted for more...
Exactly why I just go to Alberta and buy a vehicle there and drive it back. Worst case scenario I've had is a windshield needing replacing because of Calgary's famous Deer Foot... erm... Windshield Crack Trail.

Yeah years ago my daughter totaled her car when she lived in Meadowlake. I told her to go to Alberta and get a car. She went to Edmonton got a car that was selling for $2000 less than they were here. She got lucky on the inspection. It only cost her $300 and it passed. Drove it for a year and sold it still for more than she paid for it.
Now it maybe a bit harder. Cars are almost on par. Trucks there is still a difference.
Sometimes the inspections can cost you to repair things more than the vehicle is worth.
She got her car from a dealership there.

I don't mind buying from an auction, cause you can clearly and easily determine the condition of the vehicle well before it goes up on the bidding stand.
Back in 08, $7,200 for a 02 Dakota, Standard 2WD Crew with the big V6 in it was a steal... it had 96,000 kms on it when I purchased it, brand new rubber and all fluids replaced.
Here in Regina, I looked up the same vehicle at a dealer (back in 08), they were selling for a little under 11,000. The 4X4 version was 12,000 + based on options.
