I just put brand new tow mirrors on my 250. Upgraded from those retarded paddles. The new ones are power. Old ones weren't. Im wondering if anyone has done that before. I wouldn't be suprised to learn that the wiring is allready in the doors for the power mirrors. Anyone know more about this stuff than I do?
Can any one tell me where the switch for the mirror adjustment would be on a truck equipped with them? If it is located in the panel with the window switches, then I'm assuming the wires aren't in the truck. Because I didn't see any when I pulled that up. I figure if the switch end of the harness isn't there, then the mirror end and everything in between wouldn't be there either. Just doesnt make alot of sense to me to have two different harness's for power and manual mirrors. Just don't include the hardware.

The switch goes above the window switches. However, the connector is in one of two places, depending on the year.
1) Earlier years (1999-2001ish), it is behind the speaker. Take the door panel off and then remove the speaker, if is wired for power mirrors, there will be a small round connector.
2) Later years (2001-2003ish..), it is between the door panel and the door frame. Remove the door panel and if it is wired for power mirrors you will find a rectangular connector.
I havnt been able to find a definitive answer of when they switched connectors.
Ohh wait... Hmm. youre talking about the wiring for the switch.. What i posted is where the plugs that the mirror plugs into are. But the plug for the mirror would have to go to the switch so it should be near by.
It's no where around the switch panel. I was figuring if it was just as easy as getting a switch and I would have everything I needed for power mirrors I would go digging for the parts. But if I need to run wires and everything, I'm not that interested in the hassle. I don't have to adjust them very often, and if I do then thats a good task for the wife. She's probly just sittin there not doin anything productive anyway.
Even with the power adjusting mirrors, the only time I need to adjust them is when I am towing, and even still I need to have someone on that side pull the mirror out or get out and go around haha
