I have a 1992 Ford F-150 XLT 302 EFI

I was wondering why my heater works fine when city driving, but when I get on it on the highway my darn heater cuts out, but soon as I let off the accelerator everything is fine and dandy, the heater blows warm hot air too? It is really annoying me.

Please help me
Thanks Jason

You have a vacuum leak between the little plastic tubular vacuum manifold screwed to the firewall above the R exhaust manifold and the vacuum motors inside the dash. They're what move the diverter doors inside the ducts to send air to the various registers. When you stomp the gas, there's not enough engine vacuum to operate those motors and the air goes to the defrost registers until you let off.

Click on my signature link and choose the GP Automotive Pics album, then find the ones of the vacuum lines to the underdash motors. They run behind the glove box, so you can see them by pulling it. Sometimes the motors themselves fail & leak.
