1992 F-150 302 EFI Speed Density Intake

My question is when I first start my truck, the truck will die on me if I don't touch the accelerator, what could be the problem, carbon buildup on the egr or iac???

Thanks Jason

Get a Haynes or Chilton (everone here likes the Haynes), and pull the codes. The pcm will tell you what the problem is.

By the way, the Idle Actuator Control is supposed to keep the engine running. It is $110 to replace, so you might want to try and ovehaul yours first.

Is your air filter completely clogged?

Good luck, Robert.

This thread tells how to pull codes with a paperclip (jumper wire) and I've priced the IAC at ~$40. It might also be the TPS, but not the EGR. Pull the codes first.
