Hand Brake Questions

Does anyone have any clear pictures of the hand operated emergency brake that comes thru the transmission hump?
Need to know how it attach's to the tranny - where the cable goes - linkage - etc
Thanks

I've got a couple that might help, Dick. PM me your email address and I'll send them to you directly. That way I don't have to hassle with uploading them to the 'net and then link them here.

I have these photos.

Cable bracket attaches to the bolt where my thumb is pointing.

Rear bracket (cable coming from e-brake handle and two cables going out to each wheel).

I thought the handbrake you pictured only operated the trans mounted brake not the brakes on the rear axle. So the linkage is very short and no cables involved. I've got one lying around but no pics.

I'm imagineering a couple of different uses for the hand brake - From a rear emergency brake to an overdrive in/out control - Possibly on my Panel and/or on my Speedster project.
Again looking for mounting/cable/control rod pictures

As the story goes - I've always been facinated by the old 20/30's Speedsters, Marmon, Duesenburgs, Stutz, etc - Long, Big Wheels - You got the picture - About 15 yrs ago I picked up a 46 Ford Coupe with the intent of building a 60's style street/strip Gasser - After a few yrs of puttering around I relized that the body was too far gone, However I had an almost perfect chassis - While I was trying to figure out what I was going to do two things happened - I bought my 48 F1 Panel and I found a picture of this:

This is a 46 Ford Speedster that two brothers built in 47/48 in Toledo Ohio - They narrowed the chassis and used the body to build the the panels for the Speedster.
That led me to believe I could do the same thing.

I came up with this basic design which is always undergoing changes

This is the newest thoughts on the front end

I have started marking and cutting the usable original 46 body and have designed the chassis jigs
I intend on haveing it on the road next Someday.

Ford Truck parts will be used somewhere
