Question Gas Tank Down - HOW To Remove Wires???

1992 F-150, 302 CID, 2-Wheel drive:
I've dropped the front/amidship gas tank to get at the float valve, and I can't find the disconnect point for the wires leading to the fuel pump. AND, I need to remove the fuel lines - can that be done AT THE TANK ITSELF?
1. WHERE do I disconnect the wires?
2. Can I remove the fuel lines AT THE TANK ITSELF? I have already relieved the fuel pressure.

Thanks in advance.

I had to replace my front fuel pump a while back so i can't cite step by step, but i'm fairly sure with that special tool(cause Ford loves being difficult at times) you can remove the lines at the pump, same with the wires. You should be able to just disconnect, and go. Correct me if i'm wrong anyone.

Yes, lines and wiring are removed at the pump. The 4 wires go into 1 plug. Pull it up away from the pump.

The lines also disconnect, but you do need the special disconnect tool. Theyre pretty cheap, like 10 bucks at any auto parts store.

I've got that special tool - the one that 'scissors' at the center, with 3/8" and 5/16" cup-like ends that go inside the fuel-line fittings - and it has not released the fittings. I used it on the fuel-filter fittings, but it has proved useless at the tank.
Is there another tool to unlock the fittings?

what year is the truck? 85-89 have a clip that needs to be removed with a screwdriver. 90 up, put in the tool, and push, then push in on the line, and pull the line back, the clips are probably stuck.

I had a devil of a time with one of the fuel lines releasing on my '92 F350 when I changed the rear tank. I had the fancy metal fuel line release tools, none of them worked. I tried spraying WD-40, PB Blaster, etc. no worky. The other line came off with no problems.

I ended up buying a cheap set of plastic release tools, slid the correct size into that pesky connector, pushed/pulled for 2 seconds then all was good with the world again.
