8 Track Question (Yes I'm Still Serious)

I posted this earlier in the 73 to 79 listing, but it falls into the category of audio so I figured I'd double my chances of finding my answer. I have an 8 track AM/FM Radio that came from my buddys 1973 Camper Special (FREE). The truck had a factory AM/FM radio in the dash and the 8 track and a CB were mounted in a wooden box on the tranny tunnel so I don't think it was factory. Anyone out there remember how to wire one of these things up to see if it works? I cannot post pics in the thread but I have been able to upload 3 pics into my album. Look under Albums for Lazarus 1940. The wires read as follows:
Facing the rear of the radio:
Left side top to bottom:
White wire w/ green runner
Pink wire w/ blue runner
Orange wire w/ blue runner
Black wire w/ white runner (Never hooked to anything)
Pink wire w/ blue runner
SPACE
Antenna Plug

Right side top to bottom:
Black wire w/ big resistor heat shrunk to it
Blue wire w/ red runner (Never hooked to anything)
Orange wire w/ blue dots
Orange wire w/ blue dots

These last two wires have been taped together, not by me. I will try to post pics as soon as I can. This is more for the novelty of having a working 8 track than needing it for a proper restoration. Any help would be greatly appreciated, and if I end up with another weird piece of shelf art so be it. Thanks.

8 track

One of the other forum users thinks it may have come from the factory in a early 80's LTD, if that helps anyone.

Hi Chris, I can help you with the picture posting but not with the 8 track.

Click on the picture from your gallery that you want to insert in your post. When the picture opens, click on the "Forum Codes" link directly beneath the picture.

Copy the img codes from the first box and then past to your post.

The img code will look like this:

Note I removed the first and last bracket [ ] so you could see the code.

The picture will appear like this:

As any of these colored wires could have been installed by a previous user, I wouldn't hazard a guess of what they went to. However, have you tried to GOOGLE the model / manufacturer number(s)? You may find photos or schematics to refer to......

This is pure speculation and I take no responsibility for the possible toasting of the unit.

That being said I would say the first group of wires are for the speakers. One + and one - for each of 2. The antenna is obvious.

I would think the black wire is the ground and the two orange/blue dot wires are battery +. However, they may be opposite of that.

Ebay find.

Found the identical one on Ebay. Looks to me that the two orange wires came in a plug together and the other wires had their own plug which someone was nice enough to cut off mine. The search continues.

Yeah I'm not sure about the wiring, especially after looking at the pic on this page. You may have already seen it. Click.

What I find funny is that this thing was built for Lincolns and sold as the "Premium" radio package.

Oh... and I love the "Ford Aerospace" tag on the side. Those are two words I never thought I'd see in the same sentence.
