1954 F350/F500 Front Wheel Cylinders Interchangeable?
Still struggling with the brakes on my '54 F500 but I've had a little breakthrough.
The two issues I have are the front right brake being super sensitive and locking up before any of the other wheels even engage, and the brakes losing pressure 2 seconds after letting off the pedal and trying to use the brakes.
The second issue with the bleed down I have isolated to the rear brakes. With the rear brakes blocked off at the MC junction, the brakes stay bled and hold pressure beautifully. WOOHOO!
Just answered my own questions... www.raybestos.com is a great website for brake specs on our old trucks and for looking up part numbers if you didn't already know (I didn't). The part numbers for my '54 are WC1802 and WC1803. They're a 15/16" bore.
one thing i have done in the past to bleed them brakes was to take a small weed sprayer
and attached the hose to the back wheel cylinders through the bleeder screw and pumped brake fluid till it ran out of the master cylinder . do that with all 4 wheels and it should help take the air out of the lines
