This has been going on for at least four years now. (I promise to stop procrastinating tomorrow!) The system works in 4X4 High and Low but not in A4wd. When switching to that, the light on the dash simply blinks. Nothing else happens. From what I understand, the 97-98 years were the only ones with the A4wd choice. This was "deleted" until the 2003 model was produced. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
There might be a problem with the vacuum lines or other related vacuum componants in the system. Tomorrow, when you have stopped putting it off, you might get underneath the truck and do a careful inspection of all the vacuum and electrical wires and vacuum lines and their connections. Use a dab of dielectric grease on all of the electrical connections when reassembling. There have been several posts regarding the lines deteriorating as well as their connections.
I don't want to rush you, but let us know what you find when you have stopped procrasinating. This year, hopefully.
Thanks for the info Moto Mel. I will do a full inspection of the system and let you know. Not that I'm procrastinating, but it will have to wait till I return to the US in about two weeks.
All right, hurry home and check it out. You shouldn't need AWD in Georgia anyway. Good roads and very little snow, but it is nice to have all the features you bought available for when you want it.
