can I use a water pump for a 97 powerstroke on a 94? I have a brand new one sitting on the workbench and I need one in the 94. I just noticed mine was leaking while putting the clutch back in.
I know the bottom pipe is different but looks close enough. Also the thermostat is different but the new one I have already has a new thermostat and upper pipe on it. What do you all think? It would save me some money if I could use it.
Where the lower hose goes it the same just some are cast and some are bolt on. Thermostats are different but no problem as long as you get the right one. The Stand pipe for the heater hose are different threads but it sounds like your pump has that as well. you should be good to go as long as you have the heater hose pipe and the right stat.
I run a '95 pump on my 97 so I can buy the 203 degree stat anywhere I want rather than having to get them from dieselsite
I got a 195 thermostat from Ford but I kinda prefer that. That 203 in the old pump just doesn't cut it sometimes with the load I got in the mountains. It's never overheated but it's gotten up there. I'll put it on tomorrow and see how it fits. Hopefully it works. Thanks.
