You will need to disconnect as many of the plugs on the upper engine as possible. Both plugs to the fan and the plugs to the ECT, EOT and oil pressure switch, etc. Then you have to very carefully lift the wiring harness up over the oil stand pipe, because it goes between the oil filter housing and the fuel filter housing. Be very careful. The stand pipe will break easily, so I'm told.
Thanks, I don't want to hijack this thread so if I get some pictures I'll post them on the other thread listed above.
does this kit help with start ups. my truck starts great if i wait a little bit after the glow plug light goes out. but then sometimes it kinda stumbles up to starting. really do not know how to explain it.
Does this upgrade kit do anything that the BB mod doesn't, i.e. is the spring kit any better than the BB mod?
Maybe it might be a little more consistant. Dont know that I want a bb in the fuel system. Just my personal feeling, not judging.
You do get new cover, spring, popet, and o-rings
I would say its a little more accurate than just throwing a BB into the mix. With adding a BB you could over pressurize your system. This is an actual Ford part, I think I will trust them over Daisy, Crossman, Beeman or Red Rider. Just saying. Lol.

LOL! I'm worried about the BB's finish reacting with the fuel.
The reason for a spring is to allow movement at a preset resistance. The old spring did not have enough resistance, so when the bb is added is it just taking up the space by compressing the spring down fully and not allowing the spring to move?

Oh, so the BB creates a constant pressure whereas the spring kit allows for some variance. Is the spring pressure maintain an average as high as the BB mod or visa versa?
Do yourselves a favor and install the kit....it is foolproof.
The BB mod is cheap but there are too many variables involved in the install. IMO I wouldn't mess with a BB, NO MATTER HOW CHEAP IT IS COMPARED TO THE OEM KIT.

I am 100% with you on that. I am not judging anyone or trying to upset anyone but I would not put a bb in there. Maybe in a pinch to get home but would come out immediately.
The install took me approximately 20-30 minutes. The hardest part was making sure the orings within the housing seated correctly...a little motor oil and some gentle hercules strength made sure they fit in correctly and seated perfect....take your time...you do it wrong and it could really f**k up your day.
