my opinion I would never hang a meyers plow on my truck, I just sold my 8' western unimount it worked like a beast, I'm looking for a boss V plow now 9'2" is what I'm after
I've been trying to find a plow for my truck for years. Just can't justify 2 or 3 grand for a plow at this point. What setups do you guys have? I think if I coudl rig something up for under a grand I might do it.
i have never paid more than $500 for a complete plow setup in my life.
all my trucks have meyers C-8.5 plows on them.
i pick them up used in the summer when no one wants plows or plow parts.
I plowed with a minute mount fisher plow in NH when I lived there. It was a great plow. I never had any issues with it other than snapping a shear pin once. I always carried a spare after that incident.

good thing to bring up Mech, I always carried atleast one spare pin for each part on the plow in a little box under the seat
It really doesn't matter what make the plow is, if it's maintained, and has a decent operator, it will give a minimum of downtime. If you have an idiot running it, it'll be broken down. I've seen plows that weigh 2-3 tons smashed to pieces by hitting curbs that are frozen in place.
Around here it's not what make you have, it's how fast you can have it back up and running if something goes south. At 3am on a Sunday morning, I'll take the meyers that I have, and if the pump pukes, I can swap it for my spare one in about 10 minutes.
