Thanks for that input, Dan. I actually bought the repair kit to save the money on the bracket, but was able to return it unused due to one of my oil retail customers who owns a diesel performance shop. Right after I bought the kit, I thought to run over to this guy's shop to talk with him about the situation. When I told him what had happened, he said, "There's no need to spend your money on that... you can just have one of the ones I have laying around the shop. In fact, I have one that has a good PS pump still attached, so just take that one and you'll also have a spare PS pump for whenever yours goes out! IN FACT, it even still has the high dollar high pressure line attached to it as well!!"
Because of how it all worked out, I chose to buy a Power Steering Pulley tool, but that was only about $24, so now I have the tool and a spare pump, and even a spare PS/Alt bracket that I can still repair later if I want.
