I know some have shown interest in the Leece-Neville 230a alternator, and there have been voiced concerns about getting the real deal due to not being able to tell if an eBay one is real or not.
So this is a good opportunity. These do work with a smaller diameter pulley, not that it needs one, but they are available off eBay.

You will also need an additional parallel cable between the alternator to the passenger battery, a 4ga 24" to 30" unit will work well, and it should also be fused.
Edit: I was curious Jack about the 24" or 30" reference. Obviously it's routing that makes the difference. Do you have any pics showing the 2 options? Do you know the lug size needed for the L-N connection? (My truck isn't available to check, I just know I needed to enlarge it.)
My normal cable is a 4ga, 30" with 5/16" lugs for the alternator and BlueSea fuse. I've used a 36" 2ga for when I'm going to need the alternator for my dump trailer. The L-N I believe has an 8mm stud, just over 5/16".
The 30" drops straight down then follows the OE cable going between the GPM and oil filler tube. It also can go behind it, as my 36" does when it's on, but with 36" you can have the added cable exit the alternator towards the driver's side like the OE cable does. It could be 32" to absolutely follow the OE wiring. I've had a 24" on it which dropped straight down from the stud, laid on top of the GPM, then to the battery with the fuse. If one is real hyper about length, you can do the 24". I've not seen any appreciative voltage drops bewtween the 36" 2ga, 24" 4ga, or 30" 4ga. I just prefer the lay of the 30".
Not the night for me to go down and take a picture. But here is one from last winter taking voltage readings, 36" cable, exit right, then behind the oil filler tube and back up to the battery.
Torr: maybe you could claim ignorance or dunkeness
and they'll take pity on you? I'd give them a call and try -- really are great folks and often will post a thanks for letting folks know about them...
Obviously the cheapest one on Ebay would be a red flag wouldn't it
but is there anything else a guy could tell by
Why isn't L-N doing something about it shouldn't they want to protect there Brand name
