How do I determine if my 1993 F150 supercab has the heavy payload package, or whatever it was called in that year? I need to know if this truck of mine will carry a camper. Thanks.
If the truck has a heavy duty rear axle spring package--it will have what looks like helper spring pack above the regular spring pack. It increases the payload by 400 pounds if I remember correctly.
The front springs could also be increased to 3800 pounds when the snow plow/heavy duty front spring package was ordered.
If you have the separate rear overload spring package and more than 2900 front spring package--you probably have a factory heavy duty suspension package.
Check the VIN label in the drivers side door jam for the front and rear spring capacity.
Front GAWR 3375, Rear GAWR 3800 is what it says on the sticker. So do I have enough carrying capacity for a camper?
Weigh the truck empty--than weight it with the camper on it. Weigh each axle when the truck is loaded with driver and payload and full tanks of gas. Shouldnt exceed each axle capacity and GVW when loaded.
The payload is the difference between the GVW and the empty truck weight.
