ok guys ive looked everywhere for this info...maybe someone here can help....my sisters 2000 durango tranny started slipping and making a wining sound....after hearing this i thought it could be the torque converter. but to be sure i called my cousin and asked for him opinion and he also told me the same as i thought. So then he tells me he heard there was a recall on the 1996-like 03 or 04 durangos tourque converters on the ram 1500 and the durangos. anyone with advice please help.
If you are looking for any kind of warranty service, forget it, too far out. Recalls are for safety issues. Service bulletins will help with diagnosis, but expect generally to pay the bill.
we have the extended warrenty from the dealer we bought it from and this ******* sold us one that NO garage in the area takes. He even has a garage next to his dealership but he dosen't even take his OWN warrant that he sells ...thanks for the info guys
Extended isn't factory, so recall no go, but if the trans is failed, the extended is supposed to cover depending on the contract, but if no one honors it, it isn't worth the paper it is written on. However, that is a common issue with Dodge trannies...
