It was the PCM. Now I'm having the problem with the truck not boosting at all. Like normal driving with tunes I use to run about 7-8 pounds cruising, now I'm only running like 2-3 while slightly accelerating.
so it has no power now, did it throw any different codes?
I'm not sure if the turbo had to go through a relearning process with the new PCM but it seems to be gradually getting better. The turbo whistle gets louder and louder every few times I drive it. And the boost and power seems to be picking up a little. But I'm really not sure what the deal is. No codes yet though.
i would keep driving it,youre prob right with the turbo relearn.
I think I figured out my problem. He just said that it probably wouldn't relearn with no EGR valve, but I actually do have an EGR valve and I just plugged it back in today to get rid of the EGR codes it was giving and that was the start of when I started noticing it driving better.
ah ha. hope it gets better with driving it and now that the egr is plugged in you should be good
Yeah the guy at my shop told me I could unplug it with the delete but the guy that wrote my tunes told me not to because then my cooling fan wouldn't work. So that's why I plugged it up this morning. I didn't know it had anything to do with the turbo.
I am having his same issue on my 04 F350. I tried the pin test and got 12.7 on pins.2&3 but I didn't get anything on pins 3&4. New here but spend a lot of time over at powerstroke.org. Thank for the help.
