no, im sorry its for a 99 ranger 4x4 4.0L. I did a search and saw where you could solder a new light in the card i was just wondering if the cards are interchangable.
Code 27 in the 1999 Service manual indicates a short to ground in the Passenger Air bag Deactivation (PAD) switch circuit.
The normal operation is the restraints control module (RCM) has the ability to deactivate the passenger air bag under certain conditions. When the passenger air bag is deactivated the passenger air bag deactivation (PAD) switch warning lamp will be illuminated. The RCM monitors the PAD switch warming lamp for short to batter conditions. If the RCM detects a shor to battery condition on the PAD switch warning lamp circuit, it will store a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) B1890 in memory and flash a lamp fault code (LFC) 27 on the air bag indicator.
Possible causes are a short to battery on circuit 1113 (YE/LG) or a damaged or inoperative PAD switch or a damaged or inoperative RCM.
And I assume that instead of buying a new PAD switch, you want to solder in a replacement? Not what I would do. So anything else?
the indicating light in the on off switch does not work and the air bag light is flashing a 27.
I would like to just swap the circut board that the light is soldered to if they are interchangable between vehicles or solder in a new light they want over $100.00 for it at ford. Why would you not change the bulb is it a safety concern or just a personal thing?
