When turning corners hard (both left and right) I hear and feel a clunk under the driver's floorboard. It is easy to duplicate the sound and make it happen at will and it happens quite often when just driving around normally too.
First time I took it into Ford they had the truck for three days and when they finally said to come pick it up I was in a hurry to get to work. Got there and they couldn't make the noise and thought I was smoking crack. I didn't have time to mess with it then.
Second time I took it in I showed the mechanic exactly what and how to make the noise. They spent the entire morning playing with it and then ordered the shims from TSB 10-7-3.
Third time taking it in... I took it in and they installed the shims from the previous TSB. No luck, still makes the noise. They called a "hot line" and have ordered some different body mounts and bolts. We are going on day three again of them playing with this thing....
Anyone else having this problem so I can give these guys a clue to what the problem is ??
I would kinda like to have my NEW truck back.
Thanks !
Got the truck back today.
They used an "ear" to figure out the body mount up by the driver's floorboard was the culprit. THe Ford "hotline" told them to replace it so they did and they claim the clunk is gone.
I won't be able to try it out until next week but hopefully I am done with this.
