So i was thinking over the winter of getting my running boards repainted, now paint really isn't the best things for these as the paint always seams to crack when stepped on especially around the mounting bolts. So I was thinking of getting it done in that Line-X truck bed spray on liner, you can get it in different colors (yellow) now it wouldn't be smooth and probably not an exact match to my truck color but it sure would be durable and you could accually step on the running boards. So what do you guys think? good or bad idea?
You read my mind man good idea. I've been using that stuff for years on my old trucks it hides inperfections and tough stuff. I just use bleck and would suggest using black (personal prefence for 2 tone coloured trucks)
some of that stuff can be darn near perfect color matched to your paint, or you could just paint over it and the paint should flex with the coating enough to not crack.
But I would lean with Snow and say leave it black, then you can just armour all it when it gets scuffed
Wow painted the whole truck with line-x, That's it, I am going to do my stepsides this winter. I think I will do in the yellow, black would just stand out to much.
Hey Chris I thought I did create an album already!, lol, I'm still trying to figure everything out in this forum.
it was a lavender purple color before he did the lineX and it look aight, it looked really cool after because of the orange peel look and he went a little darker purple, it just suited his truck. Ill look in my pics for one of it if i can find one
