Good day I have a couple hpop questions. First I had an oil leak from a fitting on the hpop and lost all oil on a trip and then all power of course. The thread was screwed on the pump so we rethreaded and put a new fitting in. Oil was added not sure if he filled hpop res but would not start but after a while it did but running rough is this normal? Any suggestions
Yes, this is normal. When air gets into the high pressure oil system the truck will run rough for awhile, I usually suggest driving 50 miles or so to help purge the air from the oil rails in the head.
If it is puffing white smoke while cranking it is getting fuel in the injectors and the HPOP is probably doing its job. Would lean towards IPR, but wouldn't feel comfortable changing with out some numbers to go off of.
K unplugged ipr and it fired up run crappy but still running what next. Gonna replace it
I am guessing you mean the ICP on the drivers side head. If there isn't oil in the connector and it doesn't run better than I wouldn't bother replacing it.

What did you use or how did you re-thread the fitting? Is it capable of handling 3,000 psi? Were there any shavings, sealant, tape, etc. that might have made it into the hole as it was being re-threaded or assembled? Any debris inside that hole could take out one or more injectors on that side of the engine.

As Clay mentioned, did you unplug the ICP or IPR? The truck won't run with the IPR unplugged if things are working properly, so if yours started, get a new IPR.
