I bypassed the selector valve and the truck seems to be in working order now (thank god). Let's just hope she stays that way! Subford the truck used to have 2 tanks but the PO removed the front tank to run the exhaust.
How did you do this?? did you just connect the Fuel supply lines together and the return lines together bypassing the selector valve altogether also known as the "dual function reservoir" With a couple of double sided barbs?
Yea but the line coming off the high pressure pump is a different diameter than the line into the selector valve. So I went to napa they had the right size fitting for the pump with the same diameter fuel line as the sending line and used brass fittings to hold the sending and return lines together.

I think this has been the problem with my NO fuel pressure situation. I bought a brand new Selector valve also. God i hate the way ford set up these dual tanks for the 88-90 f series trucks. They definetly didnt have a BETTER IDEA. Eventually ill buy a 38 gal fuel tank for the back and do away with the front tank.
Oh Yea ive been about 3 months on and off chasing this problem. Just do a search on my posts and youll see im having the exact same problem as you. I know about the one tank deal, maybe ill convert to a single 38 gallon tank setup or not well see
Thanks for your help and let me know if this solves your problem
