All of a sudden my carb is flooding and I checked the fuel pressure and it cranks at 10 psi. My Edelbrock Carb can only take 6.5 psi. I put on a new fuel pump and I've got the same problem.
Any reason why my fuel pressure would be high?
What should my fuel pressure be?
Is there a fuel pump I can buy that would give me 5 or 6 psi only?
I installed a Holley #12-803 fuel pressure regulator up next to the carb over to the side, used a fuel pump test gage and tee to set it at 5.5 psi for my Edelbrock carb.
A $20.00 regulator isn't worth the plastic it's packaged in. Either buy a good regulator, or an edelbrock fuel pump. Edelbrock fuel pumps are internally regulated. Be aware there are two types one is for street and one is for race. Obviously you would need the street one.
