Time for new tires. I know I want an a/t tire but which one? I'm thinking of selling my truck next spring but not sure. I want a good tire but can't decide whether to buy the next owner $800.00 worth of tires. However,
if I decide to keep it I want a good set of tires. What tire? I'm going to keep the same size (245/75/16 ) on the truck . I just want the best tire for towing/offroad/hwy/gas mileage. (is that all ) I can hear you now. lol
I only put about 10k miles per year. You guys give me some suggestions on a good or great tire for my needs. Thanks
i had Bridgestone AT on for 50k miles and liked them. This time i bough tthe RVT (rough terain ) due to the good looks. Cheap at local Wal Mart... i have good luck and great in the snow.
best tire = the Revos. i loved those tires. not alot of rolling resistance, GREAT in the snow, GREAT offroad, GREAT on road, and last a LONG time. i actually still have 2 mounted on my old stock rims. there my burnout tires. if i ever have a truck thats not on swampers, it'll have revos.
I just put Bridgestone RVT 255-70-16 on and so far like the quiet and smooth ride.
If you take a close check, the RVT has a bit more rubber depth.
I also have new Monroe Sensitrac high end shocks and the ride and handling feels very controlled. The suspension feels like a taught bow string.
Did some foot work at a Bridgestone dealer about RVTs and they don't have them in their data base but can call their wearhouse to check on availability.
Find that only Walmart is the vendor for these RVTs by agreement with Bridgestone so regular dealers are not allowed to sell them.
I noticed the tread pattern on them being a combination for good winter/summer and quiet rideing that the other Bridgestones did not have. Otherwise don't turn thumbs down just because Walmart is the prime vendor.
Seems like a fine tire for the price.
P grade or LT? If you go P you can get a warranty.....LT, you don't. With the warranty I seem to end up RENTING the tires.....never seem to get the miles out of none of them. Had three sets of thee REVO's, they worked great snow, rain, mud, but only getting 20,000 miles out of them sucked. The first two sets were the P's, did the warranty run around and then tried the LT... not much better.
Currently running a Hankook Dynapro MT RT03..... already exceeding the REVO's in miles and still have half the tread. Roll the dice..... everybody has their own opinions.
