'T' at the OEM EOT sender

Has anyone 'T' the OEM EOT sender at the oil cooler and had success? Right now I ahve a sender at the oil filter cap and I believe it has already been cooled. So in order to read the oil temp before it is cooled I should be reading it at the oil cooler end. I am using gauges and am planning to purchase Autoenginuity scantool when cash is at hand. But for now I would like to know some answers to some questions.

User joeblow did that, and it did not work correctly. His temps were too low, because the probe was no longer immersed in flowing oil. Search for his recent threads you will find the discussion.

I reposted on the original post and advised HEADVIKING but he must have not looked ......either way

I T'd off of the EOP sending unit and you are correct it did give me false readings initially....UNTIL I decided to pay for a second gauge assy (complete) because the gauge color was wrong and glowgauge wanted me to send two gagues back for color match....I said no way, so once I send the defect back I get 50.00 back

I changed BOTH the gauge and sending unit and the temperatures are at ECT or a little above after a while....so it turns out the sending unit was defective. Without a second reference I can only assume it is correct. I replaced the oil cooler, added a coolant filter (2 years ago) and flushed after my EGR delete so it is cooling efficiently.

I guess take it for what it is worth.....I think what I did works.

I WOULD NOT ADVISE TOUCHING OR MOVING THE EOT SENDING UNIT....TOO IMPORTANT THE PCM RECEIVES PROPER TEMPS WHERE FORD PLACED IT.....thats just me....too many things operate off of that reading.
