Rebuilt engine.

I'm looking for a rebuilt engine for my '65 2WD F100. It's got a 240 in it right now. Any suggestions on where to look? Also, I'm curious how easy the jump to a 300 would be. Wondering if I'll need to change the bell housing or if it will be a straight swap, also, are the intake and exhaust manifolds the same for both engines?

I've never swapped an engine before. Any advice on what to look out for or what to expect?

The only difference between a 240 and a 300 is the bore, everything else is the same. So you can order a 300, and it is a direct bolt in swap. If you can swap the parts you can replace with a 300.

I have a 66 with a 240, and I plan to put a 300 in it next year.

well as said by everyone already it is a swap in bolt on deal. I would go with the 300 as ford used to 96 and cut off the 240 in 72. I had a 240 in my 66 and it was an awesome engine until she died.
When it goes for looking, watch the prices and warranties as they matter quite a bit.
