My '08 F150 1, 10 minute old 2010 dodge 1500 0. No word of a lie, this is the funniest story ever since I'm fine.
My cousin reccommended that I try out a new dodge diesel, says I'd be blown away. Today I had some time, so I went for it. At the dealer, I wasn't even greeted, wasted 20 minutes of my time waiting for a salesman to come see if I needed something, then left. As I'm leaving, I see a guy, proud as heck, taking keys on a new silver ram 1/2 ton... He's pretty proud at this point. I go to Homehardware to get some roofing stuff for the weekend. Leave the parking lot, cruising west on broadway, then BAM. Out of no where I hear a smack, feel a thump, and hear something hissing. Then the front of my truck took a dive, and I realized someone had hit me. I stop and see who it was...the guy who just took ownership of the BRAND NEW DODGE!!!! There was pieces of dodge all over the place. I got a few dents, damaged rim and flat tire. He wasn't too proud, expecially seeing he either ran a stop sign, or didn't look both ways, and just smashed up his new truck. I had lots of wittnesses, seeing that it happened right in front of the Ford dealer...
I have pics of my truck, I'll try and post them tomorrow...
otherwise, I'm glad I'm driving a Ford, and thats the way it always will be...
yeah that was me. The folks at Royal are supremely awesome. Before the truck was even towed off the street, they had a car ready for me if my truck wasn't driveable. The service writer pulled it into the garage (everything was closed) and popped my spare tire on for me and checked to make sure things weren't damaged beyond driveability...
yeah i'm pretty impressed with it. I'd like to know how fast the other guy was going. My truck hardly budged in my lane, but judging from how he got tossed almost into a complete 360, he must have been heavy on it.
I think they just made sure he was physically ok, not sure if they offered him a vehicle or not. they should have given him a card and said, "buy a real truck now"
Yes, my truck will be good as new. Thats one benifet of a lease, Ford techinally still owns the truck, and they will not allow used or lower grade parts to be used in the repairs.
Warren, I'll be honest in the fact that I'm trying to make my next vehicle purchase an unbiased one. I will likely end up with a new diesel as my next truck, and I want it to be the best truck for me. It will take some substancial differences to sway me from my Ford, but I am looking at everything!!
