High beams inop

Could use some help folks. Have a 2000 F350 with 7.3 liter engine. My high beams are not working. My momentary high beams are working, so I know I have voltage going to the high beams and the headlights are ok. My high beam indicator light is also only working when I use the momentary high beams. When I go to put on high beams the low beams stay on. Does this sound like it would be the Hi-Lo beam switch on the column and if it does is this an easy fix? I had removed dash to replace high beam indicator bulb as it was not working. Haven't driven the truck lately but wife has been and said high beams had been working. Am out of state and just found out my house has been vandalized and heading back to Texas and my inspection sticker is out of date. So I've got to get this fixed and back home.

It sounds like you have a bad multifunction switch.

not sure how you change it out though. I know you buy it as a unit and it runs about $60 or so.

Sorry to hear about your house, I hate that kind of crap, it gets my blood boiling.

i hope everything works out for you!

EDIT: OH and just take the truck to get inspected and take the failure sticker... i think you get a decent period of time to get it fixed and re-inspected, but it will get you home quicker and keep you from getting a ticket.
