So where do you think that oil comes from that gives a high reading on one side? I am talking about a typical checking operation where you remove the stick from the tube when it is hot, wipe it off, put it back in and check it. The oil does come from the inside of the tube which you have dragged up a few inches from the bottom. It doesn't magically appear on one side of the stick at a higher point.

Most likely the oil on the dipstick is oil that is splashed into the guide tube. The lower part of the guide tube is most likely always coated with oil the whole time the engine is running. When you pull out the dipstick the oil coating the tube rubs off on the low side of the dipstick. They should have put more twists at the end to help prevent this rub off problem.

That's what I have been saying and the twists might just be contributing to the residue by pulling more oil up.?????????I'm done here
