Hey guys!!! Don't say that I don't ever watch out for my fellow FTE'ers. I was walking through the NSRA show in Knoxville today and noticed these 2 tailgates laying at the Midwest Early Ford truck. This might not be what you're looking for. But I remembered this thread and snapped a picture.

Northern Classics will also sell you one like the above pictured if you're state side. For you guys in Canada McMillian Cash & Carry offers one. McMillian's is epoxy primed.

I knew they didn't match the 48-52's. I just snapped the pic because you guys were talking about them and they also had a blank tailgate. Somebody might be able to make it work. As usual, almost anything can be found for the 53-56's and us 48-52 guys stand here scratching our heads.

McMillian Cash & Carry says he's repopping the 42 - 47 and 48 - 52. Haven't seen them though. He's selling them for $550 if I remember right. I was talking to him about 6 - 8 weeks ago and he mentioned it.

FYI: Northern Classics stamps them as they're ordered so they can take several weeks. Sounds like McMillians stocks a few. Northern Classics does not ship to Canada I believe, but McMillians will ship to the USA.

Well I got the tailgate,,,looks pretty good,,,no wallops in the lettering, no rot. Appears to be 50's Merc but I no expert,,just drooling over pics of a 56 Merc pickup. It's a start to building a truck or some cool garage art. I just might sell it.

Nice looking tailgate. Not for a '48-'50 M-47. Maybe for a M-68 ? I'm going to have to take some pictures and notes at the next Ford Mercury truck show. Just never paid much attention to the other years of Mercs.

That's a 51-2 tailgate. If you can't use it because you need a '56, let me know.

That looks like a real bargain for $40! Looks just like my tailgate, I hope you can find a home for it on a '51 or '52... I would like to see it on Wayne's truck
