Does any one know AXLE CODE 47J?
Just bought a 77 F100 Ranger 2wd with what I'm pretty sure is a Dana 44 in it. I was just wanting to confirm this was stock in the vehicle, but I can't find any info on 47J for the axle code. Everything I've seen goes from 46 and skips to 49. Does anyone know? What gear ratios were available in a 44? Thanks

Well, if you look hard enough, there's no telling what you might find? There is no tag on the rear end like a 9 inch. It was caked in grime on the cover plate (left hand side) I do know that D7TA is for a 1977. The entire number reads as best I could tell is:
