Windshield Washer Bag

Hey NumberDummy -

Thanks for the tip on Dennis Carpenter catalogs. However, I question your statement:

"The 1965/66 F100/350 factory installed washer bag is either black or blue (C1AZ-17618-D or -E) and is marked FoMoCo, were also used on 1961/66 Passenger Cars."

According to the Dennis Carpenter catalog, part no. C1AZ-17618-D was used before 10-16-65 and C1AZ-17618-E was used from 10-16-65 to 03-01-67. They appear to be physically different with no colors indicated. It does appear that my truck has the earlier style bag with the grommet holes spaced farther apart.

Again, thanks for the tip!

Dan M.

Im not certain regarding the dates and part number suffix change..but I do know positively that the bags used on the trucks...blue to be specific Im aware of were definately used on the Galaxies...how do I know...cause years ago I bought a full windshield washer kit(electric) off of ebay primarily cause it had the blue bag same as my 65 does...along with the same washer pump too...
I have seen different color bags in other rigs over the course of time..usually black or red as best I could tell given they were filthy...but the bag itself was the same as what I have except different colors.
The D suffix is the blue one...I say this as the bag itself has a D in the lower left corner of the front of it...same as every blue bag Ive ever seen...I am not certain about suffix on the red or black bags if there was a letter on them at all.

My shade tree knowledge is as follows; red bags for F100's prior to 65 and 65 thru 66 blue bags;
I installed a black & white bag in my 65 F100 just to match the color paint scheme as well.
Cars carried same colors but for example my bracket that held a blue bag was the same dimension as a black one; but short lenght compair to a red bag & bracket.
My black bag was from a 66 mustang.

I have 3 trucks I believe all have original bags. They are all Blue in Color and the wide spacing.

According to the Parts List the correct replacement would be

C1RZ-17618-A

the bag C1AZ-17618-D is a hinge type I believe not to be correct

there are parts houses selling the C1AZ-17618-D bag in red and black/gold.

which one is correct for that part number and what is part number for the blue/turquiose colored bag.

Is the factory installed bag different from the replacement???? C1RZ

a link: Makes you wonder which is actually correct? LOL Does not even show the blue bag, obviously wrong on the comets

https://secure435.hostgator.com/~dlv...Reservoir.HTML

It appears the Blue bag is C3AZ-17618-A Had a NOS one I put on my 64 427 Galaxie

All of the thought to be original 65-66 Trucks I have seen had the Blue/turquoise bag. Now makes me wonder if they were original. For sure these trucks take the wider mounting...

Thanks everyone for responding. I just want a windshield washer bag that fits my '66 Ford F100 that has the wider hook spacing. I'm not real particular on the color. Anybody have parts house recommendations with catalog numbers?

I'm really surprised that DC would not list the correct washer bag in his truck catalog...

Thanks!

For electric washers there was only 1 style used...wider bag with brass grommets with the aluminum cap...comes off 2 possible ways...hinged or it slides off. None of the pics in Boss' link are the correct bag for use with electric windshield washers on these trucks. The See Clear is a foot pump operated setup type bag. The original bag for the electric type washers has a grommet spacing of 7 1/4" center to center with the bags overall width being 11" and its 8 1/4" tall with the neck in the center of the top and the drain being near the bottom on the front color portion of the bag.

I agree with cs65. His dimensions are spot on. I posted the link showing bags for a laugh because none are correct and different vendors have different bags with same part numbers. For my truck the Black with Gold lettering would match my engine but is not correct the width is too narrow. The blue bag is correct and not avail from what I can tell.

This is correct bag

This bag was on 3 of my trucks a 65 and 2 66's. Let me know if you find a source as need 3 of them.

The info posted above regarding specific mfr build dates is taken directly from the 65-72 passenger car parts book...Sec 176 pg 3

Theres no specific build date regarding the bags shown in the 64-72 Truck Master Parts Catalog..

I found the bags that will work. Take your pick on the color red or blue. I believe the blue to be as installed by factory but red has correct spacing and size

A few more tidbits on washer bags.

I would like to know about the C1RZ-17618-A what number it was changed to and when.

The earliest O.S.I. Obsolete-Supersede-Interchange I have for F L-M is January of 1977 and it shows this. Note that the C1AZ-D & E REPLACE MOST. Which we know is not correct for our trucks. Maybe someone with a older book can tell us about the C1RZ number.

From what I have found is the manufacturer who was making the Blue bags is no longer making them. I managed to find 4 across the country. Red ones there are two left that I found.

I also have 3 used ones

My 63 427 Galaxie had the Red bag and my 64 427 Galaxie had the blue bag.

Thanks Boss9F100. I like the red one. Is this your personal stash of washer bags or are these available in the repro aftermarket? Will the Dennis Carpenter washer bag for the 1961-66 Ford passenger cars fit?

There are two bags listed, C1RZ-17618-A and C1AZ-17618-D.
The C1RZ-17618-A bag is red and marked ROTUNDA not FoMoCo.

This is the bag used with the Rotunda "universal fitz-all" dealer installed w/s washer kit (C1RZ-17A603-A) for Passenger Cars/Trucks/Bronco's/Econolines and is activated by a foot pump.

C1RZ-17664-A .. Washer Pump-Use w/C1RZ-17A603-A kit / C1RZ-17664-A was later replaced by C8TZ-17664-A / C8TZ-17664-A was later replaced by D5HZ-17664-A.

C1AZ-17664-C is the pump used with factory installed electric w/s washers.

C1RZ-17618-A > > replaced by BM-17618-A which is red and marked See-Clear.

Pictured in DC's 1957/66 truck repro parts catalog on page 74 (listed for 1957/60). NOTE: Both these bags are shorter in length than C1AZ-17618-D.

No Ford Dealer or obsolete parts vendor has either one.

C1AZ-17618-D (replaced C1AZ-17618-B & C1AZ-17618-C) .. W/shield Washer Bag / Obsolete

C1AZ-17618-D =

KLIMESH MOTOR SALES in Calmar IA has ONE = 563-562-3241.

GREEN SALES CO. in Cincinnati OH has ONE = 800-543-4959.

LINCOLN OLD PARTS STORE in Clearwater FL has ONE = 727-445-1091.

Ford is in-famous for replacing (updating) 10's of 1000's of part numbers every year. If y'all don't have O-S-I catalogs, you are SOL because there is no other way to find out what numbers replaced what.

Thanks for the info Bill but I am trying to find the part number that the trucks would have had when they left the factory.

Green sales says the bag they have is RED in color and is a repo

The C1AZ-17618-D bag is the integral which I assume means the cap is spring loaded type and not a screw on?

What are the dimensions of the C1AZ-D bag? Does it have the Narrow mount?

The C4AZ-17651-A Mounting brkt tells me the trucks have the wide version of brakt.

I did find a NOS C1RZ-A BAG, other number R26-C. Washer hose goes into cap
