Good luck!

Green sales says the bag they have is RED in color and is a repo

The C1AZ-17618-D bag is the integral which I assume means the cap is spring loaded type and not a screw on?
Correct.

What are the dimensions of the C1AZ-D bag? Does it have the Narrow mount?
Uses the C4AZ17651A bracket. Parts catalog sez use with switch operated w/s washers, which were factory installed.

The C4AZ-17651-A Mounting brkt tells me the trucks have the wide version of brakt.

I did find a NOS C1RZ-A BAG, other number R26-C. Washer hose goes into cap
I ran all these part numbers on PartsVoice and the Ford Dealer Parts Locator System, no one had C1RZ-17618-A.

Take a look at the parts catalog reference I posted of the factory installed w/s washers.

The only bag listed in the 1964/72 truck parts catalog (revised May 1975) is C1AZ-17618-D.

I have an older catalog dated 1/1/1968, it lists C1AZ-17618-D.

Dan M.

Dan, I am still trying to gather info on the bags. I have found numerous NOS bags plus the ones Bill mentioned. You have to be very careful with green sales as its a bait and switch with them, they have a lot of stuff but I have been taken by them numerous times.

. I am getting conflicting reports on the color of this bag. Green sales says it is red and other vendors say it is black. Still trying to find if its the wide or narrow spacing.

If you like the red bag with proper wide spacing it is avail aftermarket, seems different vendors have different ideas what bag is what and same part number gives different bags.

More later today when I figure this all out.

We were posting at same time.

The C1RZ-A bag is not in system but did find a place that has one.
As you say its not at all correct

From what you say the C1AZ-D has correct dimensions but is Black in color?

Yes, I did view the 175.1 Illustration and actually have it in a binder. Whats interesting is it shows the button for 1965 and the switch activated for 1966.
All 3 of my trucks have the button!

Im aware of were definately used on the Galaxies...how do I know...cause years ago I bought a full windshield washer kit (electric) off of ebay primarily cause it had the blue bag same as my 65 does...along with the same washer pump too...

I have seen different color bags in other rigs over the course of time..usually black or red as best I could tell given they were filthy...but the bag itself was the same as what I have except different colors.

The D suffix is the blue one...I say this as the bag itself has a D in the lower left corner of the front of it...same as every blue bag Ive ever seen...I am not certain about suffix on the red or black bags if there was a letter on them at all.
C1AZ-17618-D = Parts catalog sez: 1965/67 F100/350.

The 1961/64 Galaxie washer pump: C1AZ-17664-C = same as 1965/67 F100/350 with switch operated electric w/s washers.

C1AZ-17664-C also fits: 1961/67 T-Bird / 1965 Galaxie/LTD before 1/31/1965 / 1965 Mustang / 1966 Mustang w/single speed wipers / 1966/67 Bronco.

Prolly fits various Merc's....but unless someone asks, I'm not gonna dig out the 1961/64 & 1965/72 L/M parts catalogs on microfiche to find out exactly what.

Good Day -

Dennis Carpenter's 1960-72 passenger car catalog (2009 edition), page 76 lists Ford p.n. C1AZ-17618-D with a photo that appears to be correct! For $30.00 + shipping, I hope it comes with a lifetime supply of washer fluid. Any reasons why I should not buy this one from DC?

Thanks!

Sorta. But, there's more to it than that.

The cap with the center hole is C2RZ17632A

But the hose does not go into the cap, this does: C0AB17A601A .. Tee.

The hose connects to this tee, which fits into the hole in the cap.

The 1949/59 Ford Passenger Car Parts Catalog (final printing 1964) lists the C1RZ17A603A kit, and all the parts that came with it.

btw: I just found something very interesting....a foot operated w/s washer kit listed in my 1/1/1968 parts catalog for 1961/66 all trucks, and someone has ONE.

It's not C1RZ17A603A, cuz it was obsoleted. It's... and contains some of the same parts as C1RZ17A603A.

I no longer have my truck, and am not in the obsolete parts biz any longer, so if someone wants the info...I'll post it into this thread .. later today.

The new Carpenter catalog for 2011 shows the part number but not the color. They say it is red in color. I see no reason not to buy from Carpenter. THey have them in stock.

High Buck! BOB ALLEN FORD in Overland Park KS has ONE = 800-676-0675.

C1AZ-17618-D =

KLIMESH MOTOR SALES in Calmar IA has ONE = 563-562-3241.

GREEN SALES CO. in Cincinnati OH has ONE = 800-543-4959.

LINCOLN OLD PARTS STORE in Clearwater FL has ONE = 727-445-1091.
Green Sales is a repro parts seller, I dunno what Lincoln is, but Klimesh and Allen are Ford Dealers.

I would assume that the two bags these sources have are NOS, gen-u-ine Ford, not repops.

I called them all.

Green Sales= REPO

Lincoln= C7GY (plastic tank) and not a C1AZ-D as listed
Lincoln has bought from me in the past then puts it in stock to re-sell.

Klimesh= Waiting for a return call as item was in their warehouse.

I also called Carpenter who said the C1AZ-D is Red in color just like the pic I posted above. The red bag does have the "D" in lower left corner.

Have not called Allen yet

If "Squire" Don (cs65) says he bought a Galaxie washer kit and the bag was blue...I believe that would have been C4AZ17A603A, 1964 kit.

The last 1964 Galaxie 500XL I owned, I bought from the original owner (trans mechanic at a 'rival' Ford dealer) in 1978, it had a blue bag.

The two 1963 Galaxie 500XL's I just sold, had red bags.

I spoke with Jeff @ Bob Allen Ford.

Item is at another location and waiting call back on color/size.

Very Pricey too! approx 3 times the cost of a repo

I agree on the Galaxie's. My 63 427 Car had a red bag and my 64 427 car had a blue bag. No reason to believe either had been replaced.

Red 64 427 & Black 63, I just need to find the underhood pics. LOL

Now you know why I type High Buck! Bob Allen Ford, cuz this dealer wants mega-bucks for obsolete parts!

Usually the Ford Dealers are cheaper than the obsolete parts vendors, because they are STUCK with the parts, since they can no longer be returned to FoMoCo for credit.

These are beautiful XL's. I've owned 30 of these cars, more 1963's than 1964's.

I sold my last two last year. I wasn't driving them, so down the road, and across the pond they went...along with my 1965 F100 (I bought new), 1939 Packard Super 8 and 1962 Bentley Continental Flying Spur.

Thanks guys for all your help on this. Who woulda' thought that something as simple as a washer fluid bag would be so complicated? Keep up the great work on answering questions from newbies like me...
