I have a 2002 F150 Supercrew that was recently struck by a Toyota in the rear end. The insurance company paid out to get it fixed. My bed is a standard 6.5 ft bed and it has some rust. I found a 6.5 ft flare side bed the same color. It came off a truck with a standard cab. Will the flare side bed be a direct swap?
Everything should be an easy swap, just check the spare tire mount and the fuel filler cap locations to make sure everything will line up.
Thanks for the reply. It's the first useful one I had. I'm driving 3 hrs to look at it and make sure it will work. But for $450 complete, I have to make the drive. I was hoping I wasn't the first person to do this swap ( std cab 6.5 ft flareside to SC cab w/styleside 6.5 ft bed) I never thought about the fuel filler or spare tire mounting. Good call! Thanks I'll be sure to check that.
If you have a supercrew you have a 5-1/2' bed... Just checking...
You sure it's not just a crewcab?
OK, my mistake. It's still a 6.5 ft bed. No one still has answered my original question. Guess I'm the first person to go from a styleside to flareside bed.
