Fender Flares?

I've got a '59 f250 8ft styleside that I converted to a dually. The tires will stick out about 5" on each side past the side of the bed.

Any ideas on what flares might be the closest fit to my truck? My plan is to install flares and use bondo to smooth them to the bed then paint the whole truck.

Seems to me the most normal-looking and logical thing to do would be to use 6 or 8 inches from a pair of step side fenders and graft them onto the side of your styleside box. If your goal is to smooth them into the box sides with filler, you'll want to weld the fenders fully to the bed sides, otherwise they'll crack. Even then, with the flexing you'll likely encounter, staying crack-free is not guaranted. It really would be recommended to simply bolt them in place like OEM duallies.

if I could find those then I would just bolt them on.

I was thinking I'd get plastic flares for another truck(doubt they make them for a '59) and then use bondo to make then look smoother.

You still need to attach your flares solidly to the bedside. And polyester body filler (Bondo is a trademarked brand name) is not really designed to be used for that purpose. It might work for a while, but it will crack and come apart in relatively short order.

I undertsand that. I was planning on bolting them to the bed. I was just thinking I'd use bondo around the endges where the flare meets the bed to smooth it out.

Does anyone know what flares would be the closest fit to my bed? Maybe one's made for an 80's truck?

You can buy those fenders both in steel or fiberglass and some of the venders have huge inventory of used parts.
