This past weekend a Coworker & friend of mine left work & on her way home she was in a violent accident. She was turning left across a 4 lane highway.. she had the green light & some young "adults" just left a bar & blew a red light, plowing right into her. I can't verify, but i've heard they were estimated to be going close to 100 mph. She was in a 4wd dodge 1500 & the other driver was in a F-150. From looking at the pictures, I'd say she's lucky she was in a full sized pickup or she may not be alive today.
My friend went from working 12 hours of taking 911 calls for people needing help to being on the other end of the call within 1/2 hour of her leaving work.
My point of this is.. that you never know what can happen next in life.. Your whole life can change completely in a split second. Cherish every moment & always tell your family & loved ones that you love them.. Cause you never know when it may be your last time..
This link has some pictures from the fire dept website.. looking at the pictures, its hard to believe anyone wasn't killed Ligonier Vol. Hose Co. #1 - Call History
Wow. If you hadn't told me what vehicles were involved, I would have had a difficult time figuring that out. It's a testament to modern engineering that anyone could survive such a collision. Things like this become even more scary when your kid gets their license.
WOW! I live right up from pittsburgh and there was a horrible crash 2 months ago on the McKees Rocks brigde. Drunks were going 120 leaving the Rivers casino and hit another car head on which hit my father inlawys 24ft box truck from his work at ATM (former STAT courier)
Those drunks walked away and the innocents were injured. If it wasnt for the box truck they would have all went off the bridge and landed on top of houses.
Im sorry for your friend, her family friends and co-workers. Ive never seen a full size pick up that bad. Prayers go out to her.
The only positive thing there is to look forward to is taking her into getting a PSD in a month or so
(Just trying to lighten the issue, there is nothing positive about this really)
Prayers to your friend and her family... exactly why I put my fiancee into something bigger (mountaineer but its bigger than most) and why I like driving my PSD...
Wow thats incredible that everyone is ok. Why people feel the need to get drunk and drive they're rig 100 plus miles an hour is beyond me, drives me nutts when I see it! And when they cause a wreck they are never the one that gets hurt or killed!
Just a good thing no one was seriously injured in this accident. Prayers.

You couldn't be more right.. In my 20+ years as a volunteer fireman.. I can't tell you how many times I've seen the drunk person walk away & the person they hit being the one seriously hurt. One accident will always stick out in my mind.. The intox driver stood and watched as we had to cut a lady out of a mangled chevette, only for her to die before we got her in the helicopter.. This accident is the same way though.. My friend is in the hospital with spinal injuries & they are unsure if she will even walk again... the passenger in the speeding truck was ejected & is in bad shape & the driver gets off with a few broken bones.. Just never seems fair...
No kidding, absolute crap! Another reason to not drink and if you're going to drink stay the night right where you are at!
I don't understand why people think that they can get away with drinking and then driving.
God Bless, I pray for a speedy and full recovery and sorry it had to be a person they hit and not a inanimate object.
Also, I don't really know what to say about the bar tender. No one has mentioned them or him. His life is now changed forever and that business is out of business I'm sure, which in my personal opinion is a good thing. Personally I think everyone should take a Breathalyzer at the door before they leave and forfeit their keys. Every bar should have a room to stay in, people should be required to walk or call a ride. That's why they have taxi's.
This is just another way to show that even people we don't know effects our lives in ways we don't know.
