The two Walmarts by me here in Pennsylvania are both out of Motorcraft 5W-20 too. I have a feeling ther not carrying it anymore.
Forget Wal-Mart. Every auto part store chain here carries the Motorcraft 5W-20 oil as virtually every Ford uses the stuff. You should be able to find it at one of them. O'Reilly, Auto Zone, Napa, Pep Boys.
My 2003 6.0 has been very happy with Delo the past 116K,my local Sams had it for $23.OO and change for a 3 gal. carton last week( I'm also in Ca.)plus tax and disposal fee...Price had been about $30.00..about the same as Rotella. I change at 5K..good luck..
I to had trouble finding Motorcraft Oil, I live in the East Valley area of Phoenix, AZ. Tried two Wall-Marts and a local Auto Parts store and no one had Motorcraft. It was either stop by the dealer or change brands, I did the latter. To bad the Motorcraft has worked well on my Ranger 3.0 (132,000) and Excape 3.0 (168,000) neither leak or need add oil between changes.
Does anyone what the problem is?
Went to Advance Auto Parts today and bought the last 2 cases of 5W-20 they had. The manager said he is having a hard time getting the Motorcraft oil. He didn't know when he would be able to get anymore.
Thanks for coming back on this. The truck is 2003 f250 crew cab automatic 4x4 6.0 PSD.
100k miles. I bought it 4 months ago, and have no history of it's past service record.
I got the idea that the oil should be the Motorcraft or IHC from the "new owner" pages here on FTE. I read and understand the reason for the oem filters, and bought them from Performance Truck Parts. (35$ for the fuel set and 14$ for the oil filter)
I'm not hung up about the Motorcraft brand myself, so if you and the other vetern owners say Rotella or Valvoline 15w40 diesel service oil is as good, I will buy that.
Thanks to you and the others that came in with helpful words. dd
Heck, if you look in my long post. Even a Ford Rep uses Rotella.
