Engine swap ?'S

I am going to be swapping my blown engine for one that I bought that was allready out of a truck. What prevenitave maintanence/modifications would you do before putting the newer one in? All that is done mod wise is exhaust and intake. On a very tight budget.

Uppipe gaskets, Turbo O-rings, exhaust manifold gaskets if it needs it, oil pan gasket if it needs it.

That's all I can think of that aren't easy to do in the truck...

oil cooler orings
rear seal
as said b4 dipstick orings inside and outside the pan,.so theres new pan seal.tube of silicone will do the trick on it

while you got the engine out if you're going to put in a down pipe go ahead and bend the body seams while you got good room to swing a hammer.

That firewall mod is a lot easier with the engine out indeed! And take care of all those Turbo O-rings too.. its more of a PIA when in the engine compartment!
