Newb question here, I will have to tackle this in a few weeks. I already have the donor parts to go into our running truck.

Where am I going to safely jack up my truck so I can take out the old axle and leafsprings and install the donor?

I don't recall while taking a peak, where the heck I could safely do that

Jack it up like normal using the axle. Place jackstands under the frame.
Remove wheels and lower the axle until it is hanging free, then tension the jack slightly. Unbolt the leafsprings, lower axle completely.

You may have to use some blocks under the jackstands to get them high enough. Be careful!! Make sure the blocks are something solid that won't crumble or break, and use chocks on both sides of the rear axle.

Place your jackstands under the frame right behind the springs. You may as well get the bolts loose before you start jacking that way you aren't forcibly wrenching on it while it balanced on the stands. Since I wasn't swapping the leaf springs I was able to unbolt/remove everything except the pivot bolts before i started lifting the truck.

I needed to use another jack and a pry bar to get my pivot bushings to line up with the brackets in order to install the bolts. Those D50 springs seem to twist in torsion a bit, probably by design. I had the jackstands directly behind the front springs as previously mentioned. No issues.

Same here, we used a little 2 ton jack to push the pivot ends up into the brackets.

If you pop the diff off the back, do yourself a favor and reinstall it before doing the pivot bushings.
