Big Back Window Broke

Would anyone know of a source for a replacement big back window on a 62 Unibody? Mine just shattered one day while the truck was sitting in the garage! Time to dry my tears and start searching for a replacement.

They are kinda known around Denver for doing Hot Rod Glass. They specialize in Chop Glass, but they can find what you need.

Simple...go to any reputable auto glass shop..tell them you need a back glass

NAGS number B3092...thats a zero...

NAGS is a trade system for glass ID...makes their job alot easier in finding it...this is clear glass, there is no listing for tinted glass.

The above number is this windows unique number..kinda like a serial number.
The weatherstrip can be purchased at Dennis Carpenter

Let us know how it goes..

Thank you. There is a lot I never knew about glass! I found a window in northern Colorado this morning - actually a friend found it for me. Sitting in a farmer's back field no less. 14 hour round trip drive but I've got so many hours in this truck already I am happy to do it. I have seen the weatherstrip for the big back window listed a number of places but never one that accepted the stainless trim. I will call Carpenter's tomorrow though and see if they have this variation. I will have an extra set of the top, side, and bottom trim for the big back window when this is all over if anyone needs it.

Not much left of the truck itself. I have essentially bought the truck but can't transport it. Engine and transmission are gone for sure. Some other body parts may be worth it, doors, windshield, might even be a tailgate I see in the bed from the picture he sent. If it is I will definitely snag that. It looks like it has been sitting here quite a while though. If you need any of this let me know and I will pick it up. You pay shipping and its yours, I appreciate your help.

Looks like a 62 unibody, long bed.

Uh...are you sure? Do you have DC's 1957/66 truck repro part catalog? If so...exactly where is the following part number listed?

C1TB6642084B .. Back Glass Weatherstrip / Obsolete

Fits: 1961/63 Uni Custom Cabs w/Wrap Around Back Window / Use with Stainless trim.

Carpenter only lists one Uni wrap around back glass weatherstrip in his 1957/66 repro truck parts catalog.

The part number listed is C1TB6642084 - Note there is no suffix on this part number.

IMO, this is: C1TB6642084A = without stainless trim, since DC makes no mention of it.

btw: NAGS = National Auto Glass Society, what most autoglass shops are members of.

I called Carolina Classics on their part number CITZ-6642084. They said it did have the groove for the stainless and in fact he thought that was the only kind there was. True I guess as long as you are talking only about custom cabs. We'll see, I just ordered it. One possible reason my glass broke is that I used the old weather strip when I reinstalled it after the body work. A little to still to cushion perhaps? If I absolutely have to I will not re-install the stainless strips. I would rather do that than break another window.

There are TWO different weatherstips-see below.

True I guess as long as you are talking only about custom cabs.
Custom Cabs came with the Stainless steel trim, Standard Cabs did not.
There is no such part number of C1TB6642084 because its suffix is missing.

Uni wrap around window weatherstrips:

C1TB6642084A = Use WITHOUT Stainless trim.

C1TB6642084B = Use WITH Stainless trim
.
The w/strips Carolina Classics has are Dennis Carpenter reproductions.

In Carpenter's catalog, the so-called part number of C1TB6642084 (no suffix) is listed, there is no mention of Stainless trim used with this weatherstrip.

delkay, whats the side trim like on the outside ??? Get the clips and fasteners...as many as possible...door sill scuff plates hardboard visors..if the thread is still sound and holding it together(the common issue with them) Grille would be a good item too if its straight. Hub caps...if they are the innie F250 style(8 lug split rims).
What part of Co are you located in ??

This a 61 or 62 so does not have side trim as such. Looks like it does have the "spears" on the hood which I will take since these are not reproduced anywhere that I can find. Not sure on the visors, I ended up buying aftermarket. I will be driving up tomorrow and picking up the window on Saturday. I will let you know Sat evening or Sun what I was able to get. I live in Alamosa, CO.

What was the end result of the Big Back Window weatherstrip?
Was it a successful product for the install?

I picked up the rubber for my windshield yesterday from rubber done the right way. I haven't installed it yet but they were recommended by my window guy and it looks like a quality product, and they have much more. Might give them a shout. I didn't ask about the big back glass. But I did see a three speed column shift tube in the catalog, which I thought were not being repo'd.
