Jacob, I don't know where you hooked up your boost guage or what you did, but your truck is not making 30psi revving in park. The only way I could see that happening is if you were revving it out to like 5000 RPM, LOTS of fuel, and a pretty tiny turbo.
Evan, it depends on the tune you were in really. I have a tune that I can't even do 10 psi at half throttle w/ my stage 2's, then turn the **** to the street race tune and boom, over 20psi at half throttle. I'd say if you were in a daily driving tune and gave it about half throttle for 10psi thats about normal. Get a WOT run on it in a big program and see what happens. 25-28psi should be normal w/ stage 1's. If your not intercooled you might get a little closer to 30psi.
it went to 30psi for a single instant. i gave it full throttle. on my tw tunes i claimed to have a adrenaline hpop. and maybe with it being a 97 that might make the difference. i read that the 97 has better head design whether it was a california model or not
head design is exactly the same with the exception of the lifter galleys. This doesn't change performance.. The head ports are the same from '94.5 all the way to '03. Your truck must run crazy as heck to get 30psi from a free rev. Mine won't even think about touching 10psi to 4000RPM or a little more, live tunes from TW, stage 2's, etc.
Since its a 97, how can we tell if its a california model? I am still perplexed as to the AB stamped on the *new* injectors from Ford that are in his truck. I'm sure that if they are AB that would make some difference in the boost numbers in Park. I didn't see the 30 psi rev, but I got my numbers from his gauge, since he's not using it. So if it is off, it isn't very far off.
Anyone else have experience with the EBPV not staying 100% open while the truck is running?

It was in my 100hp tune first thing in the morning. Later on I did a nice rolling take-off and did WOT in my 140hp Extreme tune. Couldn't get traction on the wet highway, but I was hitting about 32psi!
10psi half throttle just taking off, I must have serious problems with mine!! Rev in neutral sitting, nothing. I need to be under load to pull 32 wot pulling 17K.
I can spike like 5 psi if I rev mine out to 4000-4200 RPM, but if I just rev to like 3200 the guage will barely move a tiny bit. Even with AB injectors there is no reason that anyone should be seeing 30psi on a free rev in park or neutral..
