Hey Larry NCKS, thanks for mucking up slomans' thread with you OAT coolant sales pitch AND for the negative rep...
Do you not want to answer my question/concerns about OAT coolant not leeching the sand from the cast or do you just want to take your ball and go home?
OAT coolant not benefiting from a coolant filter bypass system makes as much sense as saying Brand X oil doesn't benefit from an oil filter bypass system, for ALL the reasons I previously mentioned, and you've failed to address.
And I'm a bully...? Just make sure to follow through on your OAT coolant sales pitch with ALL the facts and answer the questions I've asked, since you're the one that's raised them with the incomplete information you've provided.
Remember, this thread was about DieselSite's coolant bypass system, not a product line that shill for (without vendor status I might add).
Thanks for saying that Ronin and also for the help in keeping these threads substantial.
There is so much great information to share, and I have learned tons of technical information from the five sites I visit.
It is just to bad that every now and again it seems that you have to have someone like that inject their BS into the "Conversations"
Heck, even a Newbie like me sees those red flags go up

Liking your Phase I mods coming in September, is that when you're coming home?
Likewise I'm looking to do the DieselSite transmission fluid remote bypass filter along with a high capacity PML tranny pan myself when it needs service here shortly.
Don't forget FilterMags too! Little extra "attention" for that ferrous junk floating around...
As always I am a newbie here.
I was thinking about buying a Mag-Hytec for mine, but they sure hurt the 'ole pocket book. I will check into the PML. Thank you for the tip.
Now for the newbie part.......
Are you talking about magnets to put on the outside of the filters?
It sounds like a great idea, but I do not know much about them, if you would not mind helping me out with that, it would be great.
YES!!! Latest, greatest is home in Sep, get retired, and right back as a contractor.
But, first I NEED to get all of my MODS done. I bought an EGR delete kit also, but am a little "fraidy cat" as the old warranty does not run out until Nov 2014, and that one is bit un-reversible if you know what I mean.
~Mike~
P.S. I have to come back as a contractor just so I can do my Phase II Mods HA! HA!
Whoops, sorry about that, I got my tranny pans confused. HERE's where I was looking at the Mag-Hytec's at. Not sure how their pricing ($350) compares to what you've seen. An additional 8+ quarts of fluid along with a remote tranny fluid bypass filter and FilterMag on top of that?! SWEET!!!
And HERE's more info on the FilterMag. It's obviously only effective on ferrous material, but anything that keeps particulate of any type from continuing to flow through the motor is great in my book and can only compliment the 2-micron filter rating of the AMSOIL.
Awesome site Ronin.
Thanks as always.
Those magnets look great and are cheap insurance.
And the pan is $17.00 cheaper than Amazon.
Every little bit counts when we are blasting so much on our rigs anyway.

Well, I got MY DieselSite coolant bypass filter installed this past weekend. They included plenty of teflon tape to wrap the fittings, but I used a paste/sealant and it didn't leak a drop (sorry to disappoint ya Larry ). I was a little bummed out that the kit was short almost a foot of hose mounting it in the location they recommend (found out I wasn't the only one that had that slight issue). Using vise-grips/clamps on the heater hose resulted in a minimal loss of coolant (saw that in an install article on another site) too.
I didn't do a flush as I wanted to let the coolant that was in there do the work for the next couple of months. I'm gonna tear into my filters when it comes time to change them and once they start looking spiffy I'll flush the system and refill it good ole Motorcraft (sorry again Larry ).
Highly recommended maintenance mod and regardless of your mileage, if you plan on keeping your truck, just do it!
