Well, I decided to give my truck some much needed TLC today. Since my tranny issue occured in the middle of August, I've been neglecting my truck. Between working on things trying to solve the tranny issue to working OT to try & pay for my BTS I haven't even taken the time to wash it, let alone clean the inside out from our camping trip where all my headaches started. I needed to change the oil before my trip to BTS on Oct 5 & decided while i was at it may a well clean the old girl up a little bit. So I scrubbed the inside out ( everything from the salt from an empty bag of pretzels my kids dumped on the back floor to a crayon smashed into the floor mat ) That and a good pressure washing of the underneath , cleaned out the engine bay with Simple Green & a wash job.. Depending on how tomorrow goes, I may even wax it
The happy couple..
Of course, my daughter was helping..
This was kinda scary.. "Dad, I wanna drive your truck when I get older"... I think I may have to get the Valet mode added to my DP !!
That thing looks pretty shiny already! If you don't want to take a long time waxing it, get some Meguires Final Inspection, its a spray on/wipe off that does a great job between full wax jobs. Always makes ya feel good to get these looking like new. Nice looking rig!
Thanks guys..I had a great helper today. My truck does look good when its cleaned up, it just sometimes seems like a never ending battle.. The PO took pretty good care of it & the bed is also new (used 2004). About a year after I bought it, rust started showing on the wheel wells. After looking, I found it had been repaired once already. But thanks to a young kid not paying attention at a stop light on a snowy night I got a 2004 bed with a RhinoLiner already in it & it only cost me $400 on top of what insurance paid..

Grant..Mike is right, its fire wood.. AKA heat for my house this winter.. That stack is double after the first 4 foot & goes quite a ways down the hillside.. I have another 4 cord stacked behind my shed.. I am usually cutting more around this time of year.. but I don't want to load my truck up with wood until I get my tranny fixed.. But that will change soon

I miss cutting wood on a cold day, then sitting in front of the fire place with my girl............sorry, I was dreaming again.
I have a brand new fire pit, and a stack of wood thats been sitting for the past year. I hope we have a few cool day to use it. If not I'll throw it in the truck and bring it up to ya Gregg. I'll just have to get out of there before the salt shakers come out.
Gregg, I see you have the muffler delete with the stock exhaust. I was just wandering how that sounds compaired to the straight 4 inch turbo back. After dumping about $1,500 into tranny repairs I feel I better hold off on the 4" till next spring but I can cheaply cut the muffler out and pipe it up.

I hear ya.. call me crazy but I love cutting firewood & there's nothing better than sitting around a campfire.. Its my favorite part of camping.. I can sit there, drink a few beers & just stare at the fire & stars all night.. Of course, good company does help.. Its 56 here right now.. you might as well bring that wood up now & we'll kill it & a few beers while we're at it. Lets just hope the salt shakers aren't coming that quick.. This is my kinda weather, fall is an awesome time in Pa, but i'm not ready for snow yet.
I helped a friend split some wood a few weeks ago... We split this in about 8 hours..

To be honest Rob, I can't give you an honest comparison as to how it sounds compared to a 4".. I do like the sound of my truck & it helped keep my EGT's in check.. I planned on it being a short term fix, but its been a year now. I've just had more important things to spend my $$$ on.

A big ditto on the firewood. My best friend & I cut up some downed trees for a couple hours yesterday. We have an El Fuego fireplace; the wife & I will have all day fires almost everyday during winter. Lights out in the living room just watching the beautiful flames and enjoying the warmth, it's great.
Yes, Pennsylvania autumns are awesome! Nice looking rig too!
