I am new here, so I apologize in advance for any posting or forums mistakes I make. I have a 66 F100 ALL original. (except for the hurst shifter on the floor). Bought it a couple of months ago from the original owners nephew and love the truck, I have had old chevys before and this if my first classic ford truck. I have been doing alot of reading on the truck and motor. And I have read alot of posts here and have found that there are very knowledgeable and very helpful people in here. So I come to you for help and advise.
I need to get my heads rebuilt, I found a set from an older gentleman that he bought about 10 yrs ago that were redone, they are still in the packaging and have the casting D2TE AA 29-203. He said he bought them for his 75 f100 with a 360. Will those work on my origninal 352? Thank you for help and advise
The heads will bolt right on...and D2TE-AA heads have hardened valve seats.
In fact, Ford replaced the heads used on 1965/67 352's with this head for use as a service part replacement (parts sold at the parts counter) which also fits 390's.
Thank you both. I have read a few posts on here that have definitely improved my knowledge about my truck and has helped me get a better idea on what I want to do with my truck. On many of those posts, I have seen both of you replies and I can tell that your knowledge and advise is invaluable. Again Thank you.
Good info to know whether new or old; was in a salavage yard today; came across a 75 model super cab; with a 360 / C-6. Key's in the ignition; cranked right up; has a 2 barrel holly on factory intake with headers & dynomax muffer's.
Ran better than the truck we drove to the yard. Prolly go back and retrieve the heads and exhuast for my current build.
Oh' and Welcome aboard Axlball!
i found after breaking my 352 that the heads on my 352 were really 428's
FE heads are essentialy all the same save some very early heads with the machined combustion chambers, and the 427 high and mid riser heads.
Valve sizing was all the same. The only difference between heads is the CC volume of the combustion chamber which gave you your representitive compression ratio, and exhaust bolt pattern. I think ford had three differnet bolt patterns for the manifolds so be careful there.
