Hello all,
Today i was driving my F250 (Superduty 5.4L 2wd auto) home from work and when i was on the highway the check gauges light was on and I realized i was in the red temp zone. Well when i pulled over i was steaming from under the hood and anit-freeze was everywhere. I have searched everywhere for the leak or a broken hose and cant find anything. All the coolant is on the passenger side of the engine if that makes any difference. I know i should look at the waterpump but i'm not sure where that is (maybe someone has a pic of location) If anyone can point me in the right direction of where to start looking i'd appreciate it.
Thanks
(i'm somewhat knowledgable in cars but i just cant afford to take it to the shop, so thats not an option)
the water pump is on the front of the engine, just follow the botton radiator hose up to it. also if you cant find a leak it is possable the engine over heated causing antifreez to puke out the expansion tank. hope this helps
Not Sure of your year model but since mid -90's at least ford has used plastic tanks on the radiators. Every one I have seen crack it is kind of elusive.. Not glaring you in the face unless you refill & see water leaking out.. Hopefully that isn't your problem...
