You always your power evenly distributed to each side of your truck, or axels will tell you exactly where you can "shove it"

think of it this way, if all 4 wheels are driving the truck you in theory you have 25% of torque to each wheel but if you have lockers and engauge one hub you have know split the torque to 50% rear and 50% to one tire, that is twice the load. that is if you have a front locker, if not one hub wouldn't really do anything. an open diff always sends power to the path of least resistance. The wheel with the unlocked hub is where all of the power would go and be absilutly no help.

76, you're missing the point and this discussion is regarding a locked up front end. At any given moment the percentage of the load on either front wheel can vary from none to all of it depending on what the wheels are up against. If one wheel is climbing an undercut rock and the other is in the dirt for example. Most of the load is on the rock wheel, so this is no different than running only one hub locked with a locker. It will work fine, but wouldn't advise hammering it too hard.

I haven't driven twin lockers before, so I don't know what to expect on fighting steering, but the only reason I was thinking 3WD might be a decent idea is when I come out in the morning and there's a lot of snow, and I want to move my truck without hitting a car, I'll have to crank the wheel and try to walk out of the snow.

Sounds like it's still ok for that, as long as I'm not stabbing it. Thanks. Good discussion, I really liked seeing the input from rock crawling.
