Looks like I've gotta replace mine when I replace my rear brakes now. I hope it does the trick for mine also...

Now They are doing it again!! What else do I look for? It seems to be the front driver side, I even changed the caliper.

The stainless steel flex lines aren't constructed with rubber. They use a oil resitant flexable plastic that won't degrade over time like the stock rubber ones, and the plastic is protected by the braided stainless steel. I just installed a SS prebent hard lines and SS braided flex lines and my brakes work a lot better. I also haven't seen SS stock length flex lines but this website will allow you to custom length SS lines.
Inline Tube - Preformed Stainless & OEM Brake Line Sets
This is the place i bought my hard lines and they don't have a listing for flex lines for our trucks but they have great customer service and will make anything dealing with brakes.
It looks like it will cost around 100 for three SS flex lines, compared to other SS flex line kits

I dont see anything wrong with the discount parts ones.
They are all made by the same company I fathom. So just buy them, unless you can get some nice ones cheap.

Remember that braided hoses are going to hold moisture to the hose, as well as dirt and other things. =)

I've fallen pray to the rotted inside's before also, on the SHO. I coudln't get a drop of fluid though the lines trying to bleed the new rear calipers. I coudln't figure it out.
The pressure holds them open, but soon as you take off that pressure, the line swells up inside and your done for.

My driver's caliper went out on Friday. I noticed that my first 50 miles burned and @$$load of fuel. When I came to the next town and hit the brakes the were squealing like a stuck pig and hotter than heck. New caliper fixed that.

I spect George that you used the caliper from your extra truck? Maybe she's bad too now...

No, I bought a new one, they were different. After replacing the bad out the box one... I Still had some drag. The hardware kit on the rear let loose and the shoe was binding up. That explained alot

You can check the hose by jacking up effected wheel and while it is dragging (brake) loosen bleeder valve if that releases brake it is more than likely the hose if not than the caliper.

Good Luck

That's how I tested the hoses when this started, but thanks. Anyway, the rear is holding up fine. 500+ miles.

The old ss braided flex lines hold dirt and moisture but the companies now have come out with tight fitting clear plastic cover that you can get in multiple colors.

Past experience for me with going cheap has cost me more in the long run in the past.
