I am in the process of doing my homework on lifting it. I want a 4' lift. What is the best lift for a 2000 ford f250? There is so many. And any knowledge would be appreciated! I called a few local shops, and the prices we're ridiculous. Would it be easier to buy them on line for cheaper, and free shipping and have them just put it on and pay labor. What's your take on that as well. Thanks!
I've always gone suspension lift. Had 4" first then went to 6. Did both myself. If you don't have the knowledge and/or equipment to do it (or patients lol) I would recommend getting it on ebay or something and either having a shop do it or a mechanically inclined friend help. Rough Country is the cheapest I've found but some people don't like them. Above that are pro-comp and sky jacker. Where are you located?
I am alright as far as mechanically inclined, although i've been busy lately. Plus rather pay someone probably that can do it right. I am located in California, I was looking at sky jacker. Kind of leaning towards them. I found this site: 2000 Ford F-250 Skyjacker Lift Kits, Skyjacker Lifts that looks like a really good price.
I have a Skyjacker kit on my truck, and I HATE how rough it is. Seriously. Ride quality sucks big time.
Anyone who gets a lift should invest in a good quality kit that has an excellent ride. Otherwise, be prepared to be bounced around everywhere you go, only to get sick and tired of driving your truck for long periods.
What about a 4" Lift, 2000 - 04, F250 4WD Trucks Leaf Spring Straight Axle w/ 2.5" Factory Rear Block With MX6 Shocks for Sale: $1030.21 and free shipping?
Okay, what do you suggest that as far as a kit with excellent ride. I defiantly don't want to be bounced everywhere. I want the best ride I can get.
Rize.
If I had it to do all over again, that's what I would get. They aren't cheap by any means, but I would much rather pay for quality than to drive around day in and day out with a truck that rides like an old Jeep.
Get a quality lift bro, ive had a 8" pro comp on mine and it would absolutely beat the crap out of you. I know have a soft ride super lift 10" and super lifts soft ride is not by any means soft either. If i was willing to do it all over again I'd go kelderman air ride lol, but that's just me. But no seriously get a quality lift the first go around and be happy. Icon makes very good lifts for superdutys.
I had a Skyjacker 4 or 6" on my '93 as well. Rough ride for sure. Not sure what to recommend, I thought ProComp and FabTech were supposed to be pretty good ride quality. I have a Tuff Country level lift on my SD, its firmer than stock but not harsh.
I've heard others mention Deaver springs. What's so special about them? Could a local spring shop not build a set just as well? Deaver's website only lists a front leveling kit for the 99-04 super duty's. Do they sell front springs for a 4" lift too, or is that only available as part of someone else's lift kit? Any names you can throw out there that include deaver springs? The wife is thinking about a 4" lift on hers.

Deaver Suspension also lists 5" and 7" lifts for 99-07 Superduties on their website.
If you ever get a chance, compare a Deaver leaf spring pack to something like my Skyjacker pack. A total night and day difference. I have probably half the leafs in mine that Deaver would use in a similar height lift.
Other good brands are Icon and Rize.
That would sum up my very short list. I've learned the hard way. Too bad I wasn't the one that put this lift on my truck to begin with, it was done by the previous owner. But I'm sick of the rough ride, and so is my wife. I may swap out the lift one day. Not sure if I'll go back to stock, or go with a different brand lift. If I do go with another lift, it will be only Deaver, Icon, or Rize.
I have a pro comp 6 inch lift in my truck and it doesnt ride that bad. You have to remember that you driving a truck and not a honda civic...it will ride like a truck. Im not upset with mine at all. And on our trucks, the lift is pretty darn easy to put in.
Call up Clay at Riffraff Diesel and get an Icon 4" lift kit. Then install it yourself, go buy some jackstands, torque wrench and do it yourself. It isn't that hard.
My 12.5" Icon rides better then stock. It is hard to believe, but you get what you pay for.
I am throwing BDS on the list.....Little more pricey but the truck sets level and has a good ride....not to mention they guaranted for life.. (sorry about the spelling)
