Rear Window Lock
Thanks
The key should turn from 3 O'Clock to about 9 O'Clock. 3 to unlock and 9 to lock. The key lock is attached to a a metal bar that extends over to the handle on your rear window. The mechanism is a brass colored piece of metal with two functions. One function is to lock/unlock the mechanism (connected to the metal bar connected to the key). The other is the rear handle. What is probably happening is that the lock/unlock is frozen due to dirt and so it won't allow you to turn the key all the way.
The pull down handle inside the vehicle comes of with two screws (Torx I believe) and then you can pull the panel off very easily. Just get your fingers or a screw driver in between the panel and the window and pull. Then their is a piece of plastic (dust screen) that is glued to the metal. Pull that off and then you should have access to the handle mechanism. I sprayed mine down with WD-40 and then just got in there with a tooth brush the best I could. I had to pull and push the metal bar that connects to the key lock to get the mechanism to lock/unlock. You should be able to see how it all works pretty easily once you have it open. Only took about 20 minutes. Good Luck!
